Sometimes a little bit of flossing can really do you some good.
Life can be filled with negatives, seriousness, and complications, which is why flossing these out of your life is a good thing to practice from time to time. There are many ways in which people try to avoid these dark areas but a positive way to do so is with comedy! Get out there and humor yourself and/or someone else! It feels so good to bring out smiles in people and surround yourself with a warm atmosphere. Having a lighthearted approach can be very fun and sometimes unwinding in this way is exactly what everyone needs.
So on that note…I gave it a go and literally took flossing to another level…
I created a jumbo floss dispenser for one of my school projects! This huge, random, spray-painted, cardboard sculpture is made to scale and actually dispenses “floss”. It reaches almost 4 feet high and a little over a foot deep! The whole project cracked me up…I carried it around campus, squeezed it in my car, held it and hobbled down a busy street, tried to make it fit nicely in my house, and watched my roommates confused reactions as they walked through the door. All in all, it was a very amusing day!
I had also thought about making this into some sort of Halloween costume since it was the season for such things, which would have been hilarious. I would’ve been good to go if I simply cut some foot holes in the bottom and attached some traps to the top. Also doing a tooth theme with a group of friends would have been brilliant: tooth fairies, toothbrush, toothpaste, dentist, hockey player with missing teeth, etc. There are so many possibilities! So if I do not end up giving this jumbo floss dispenser to a dentist office in the area, then this could definitely be a possible costume for next year! 🙂
What can we say? Us art students tend to do our own, unique thing sometimes. Now you try! Get out there and make someone smile or do something that makes you smile. Filling people up with laughter is a wonderful thing! Plus, you never know the last time that particular person smiled…you could actually be making their day.
